The Amana Model
-
This is a comprehensive diagnostic mapping of your mental health. We use this extended time to move beyond surface-level observations and build a definitive clinical roadmap that includes your medical history, sleep architecture, stress physiology, and more.
-
Yes, but only with your written consent. Within our practice, Ebteehal Ismail, PA-C, works under the direct clinical supervision of Dr. Ismail, which ensures a unified, physician-led approach to psychiatric care. Collaborative care between our medical team and our therapist is strictly opt-in.
-
At Amana, we prioritize preventative treatment over reactive treatment. Your Clinical Roadmap is designed to be comprehensive, providing clear instructions for medication adjustments or side-effect management between visits. Due to diagnostic clarity requiring a focused clinical dialogue, we do not utilize portal messaging for clinical changes. If your situation requires a change in your treatment plan, you should schedule a sooner follow-up appointment to ensure that change is made safely and with full diagnostic oversight.
Insurance & Payments
-
Amana Behavioral Health is a direct-pay practice. You pay for your session at the time of service, and we provide you with a Superbill (a detailed medical receipt). You can then submit this document to your PPO insurance provider for potential reimbursement or to be applied toward your annual deductible.
-
No. Due to federal regulations, we are unable to see patients enrolled in government-sponsored insurance, even for cash-pay services.
-
We require 48 hours notice for all cancellations for a full refund. Cancellations made within 48 hours are subjected to a $50 late fee. Appointments cancelled within 24 hours are subject to the full session fee.
Medication & Safety
-
Our philosophy is judicious and evidence-based. We prioritize medication optimization to achieve long-term stability while limiting side effects.
-
As an outpatient telehealth practice, we are not equipped to handle acute psychiatric crises. If you are in immediate danger or experiencing thoughts of self-harm, please call 911, contact local emergency services, or go to the nearest emergency room if it is safe to do so.
