A clear clinical roadmap requires clear financial transparency

At Amana Behavioral Health, we have intentionally chosen an Out-of-Network model. This decision is rooted in our commitment to provide a higher standard of diagnostic care than the traditional insurance-based system typically allows.

The Preliminary Consultation

(15 Minutes — Free)

Before committing to a full evaluation, you have the option to begin with a direct conversation with Dr. Ismail. We will ensure your needs align with our specialized model and provide a recommendation for the most effective clinical path forward.

Psychiatric & Diagnostic Management

Led by our Physician and Physician Assistant (Available in Illinois & Michigan)

This path is designed for those seeking an accurate diagnosis, a second opinion on their current treatment, or the optimization of their medication regimen.

The Comprehensive Diagnostic Evaluation ($365 — 75 Minutes)

A diagnosis is only as accurate as the time spent reaching it. We dedicate over an hour to your initial evaluation to move beyond surface-level symptoms and uncover the underlying drivers of your struggle. By examining the full clinical context—including medical history, sleep architecture, and stress physiology—we replace guesswork with a definitive roadmap for your recovery.

Follow-Up & Optimization

  • Standard Clinical Review ($165 — 20 Minutes)

    • Focus: Targeted medication optimization and stability monitoring.

    • Best for: Patients who are established in their treatment and require consistent, expert oversight of their regimen and progress.

  • The Extended Clinical Session ($265 — 40 Minutes)

    • Focus: Advanced Strategy & Clinical Guidance.

    • Best for: Patients who value a more comprehensive approach. This tier provides the necessary time for in-depth patient education, nutritional and lifestyle optimization, and brief therapeutic support to complement your medical treatment.

Specialized Clinical Therapy

Led by our Clinical Social Worker (Available in Illinois and Michigan)

This path is for those focused on behavioral change, emotional resilience, and navigating life’s transitions through a culturally grounded lens.

The Therapeutic Intake

($155 — 55 Minutes)

Your first session with Khalled Ismail, LLMSW, is dedicated to establishing a deep understanding of your inner life and outer world.

  • What to expect: A space prioritizing your goals and values, exploring how all layers of your life impact your journey through an unhurried, intentional dialogue.

  • The Result: A personalized treatment plan aimed at aligning your daily actions with your spiritual and personal values.

Clinical Therapy Session

($125 — 55 Minutes)

Ongoing 55-minute therapeutic hours focused on translating your clinical roadmap into daily resilience.

  • Note: Therapy can be integrated with psychiatric management where your doctor and therapist collaborate directly.

  • Objective Accuracy: Because we don't work for insurance companies, your diagnosis is a tool for your recovery—not a requirement for billing. We have no incentive to place you into a category to justify a claim.

  • Price Certainty: You will always know the exact cost of your care before your session begins. You will not receive surprise bills or complex insurance statements months later.

  • Continuity of Care: Your care remains uninterrupted even if you change jobs or your insurance provider shifts networks. Your relationship is with us, not an HR department.

  • Focused Care: We cap our practice size to ensure we can provide 75-minute evaluations and deep clinical research into your specific case without the burnout of high-volume quotas.

The Value of the Direct-Pay Model

Utilizing Your Out-of-Network Benefits.

While Amana Behavioral Health does not bill insurance directly, many of our patients are able to receive reimbursement through their "Out-of-Network" benefits.

How it works:

  1. Payment: You pay the session fee at the time of service.

  2. Superbill: We provide you with a Superbill (a detailed medical receipt) after each session.

  3. Submission: You submit this document to your insurance provider (often via their online portal).

  4. Reimbursement: Your insurance may reimburse you a portion of the fee directly, depending on your specific plan.

Please note: We cannot see patients with government-sponsored insurance (Medicare/Medicaid) due to federal regulations, even for cash-pay services.
